"Gain your Diploma in Aviation & Tourism Management within 2 1/2 years."
The emergence of Air Asia and the upgrading of airports in Malaysia, including KLIA, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching, have made the aviation industry to be watched. Being a basic transporter of people and cargoes the aviation industry also grows along the hike of the mainstream of the nation’s economy and other regional economies like China and India's .
Aviation is also an increasingly important mode of transport for tourism markets. Whilst geography has meant that, in modern times, air travel has always been the dominant mode for long distance travel and much international tourism, moves towards deregulation, and in particular the emergence of the low cost carrier sector, have also increased aviation's significance for short and medium haul tourism trips. Thus developments in aviation can have very major implications for many leisure and business tourism markets.
Malaysia is also one of the most popular tourist destinations in the ASEAN region. It received around 22 Million international tourists in 2008, an increase of around 5% over the previous year (2007).
According to a new research report "Malaysian Tourism Industry Forecast to 2012", international tourist arrivals in Malaysia will grow at a CAGR of around 9% during 2009-2012, and tourism receipts from overseas tourists are expected to rise at a CAGR of around 10% to RM 70 Billion (US$ 19.6 Billion) in the same period. Apart from the ASEAN countries, tourist arrivals from China, India and the Middle East will strongly grow during the forecast period (2009-2012).
The Malaysian tourism industry will continue to grow rapidly in coming years on the back of increasing promotional activities by the government and growing reputation of the country as a shopping hub.
With both these important industry skills - aviation and tourism - our graduates will be able to command better job prospects upon graduating. Malaysia would also benefit from the production of high quality graduates from colleges such as AMC
